My blueprint for success:

♦ Making the regulatory process for businesses to start new businesses or expand their business easier. Empower the communities to evaluate new businesses and make the process simpler and quicker but not at the expense of the environment or increasing the tax expenses already being carried by our citizens.

♦ Strengthening our K through 12 educational systems so every student has an equal opportunity to be successful in the future. Back to basics of "reading, writing and arithmetic" associate those topics to more need to upgrade our skills with technology. We need to plan for our future and concentrate on our future workforce.

♦ Develop a better process for our students to advance themselves into further education after high school. They should first say "where can I go?" and not "can I afford to go?"

♦ Enhance the independent research and development components within our State. Let’s collaborate with existing economic development components and assist in enhancing them. Let’s not reinvent the wheel and have everything centered in Augusta.

♦ Training and development of our current workforce must be matched with current company needs. We must also work side by side with the development of new businesses so we can prepare workers for those new jobs.

♦ Work within each county to evaluate and prioritize their assets and work with them to develop a new economy specific to their needs.

♦ Must maintain sensitivity to:

♦ Environment

♦ Tax burden on Mainers

♦ Education for the future

♦ Training for the current and new job market

♦ Development of new business throughout the State

♦ Assistance to the more vulnerable population of our State, elderly and developmental disabled and our children in crisis.

♦ Equal opportunity for all people.

♦ Affordable health care

We can build from the blueprint to form a strong State structure that will carry all citizens forward to a better tomorrow.
